Lot 931: A mid-20th century Tudor Revival style two-piece oak dresser
A large two-piece dresser constructed from dark-stained oak and oak veneers in the Tudor Revival style. The upper hutch section features two outer cupboards with leaded glass panels in a geometric diamond pattern, each containing internal shelving. To the centre is an open alcove with two shelves, surmounted by a carved arched top decorated with floral and foliate spandrels. The top is finished with a moulded rail and a scalloped frieze. The base sideboard section consists of a rectangular top above two corner frieze drawers with carved detailing and metal ring-pull handles. The lower portion features four cupboard doors; the two outer doors are single-panelled with carved accents, while the central section comprises a drop-down fall-front compartment positioned above a pair of smaller cupboard doors. The piece is fitted with decorative metal drop-ring handles and ornate H-style strap hinges throughout. No manufacturer marks are visible.
