Lot 442: An Assortment of Silver and Silver-Plated Flatware and Tableware Including Grape Shears and Napkin Rings
A collection of mixed flatware and tableware comprising both solid silver and silver-plated pieces. The flatware includes an array of spoons and knives in various patterns, notably several items in the Fiddle pattern with clipped corners and a large spoon with a King’s pattern shell terminal. Featured serving items include a large soup or punch ladle with a rounded terminal and a pair of ornate grape shears with pierced handles cast with a vine and grape leaf design. Also included are two silver-plated napkin rings with decorative borders. Several spoon handles are struck with British hallmarks, including the lion passant for sterling standard, the leopard’s head for the London assay office, and a date letter. Other items in the lot are marked for electroplated nickel silver (EPNS).
