Lot 449: A Group of White Glazed Ceramic Tableware with Molded Spiral Pattern and Gilt Edging
A group of white glazed ceramic tableware, featuring a classic molded spiral swirl pattern on the bodies and rims. Each piece is finished with gilt-edged borders and gold-coloured highlights to the handles and finials. The collection includes a large oval covered vegetable tureen with a domed lid and gilt-painted handles, a sauce boat with a matching underplate, and a large open serving bowl. Stacks of plates shown on the upper shelf appear to belong to the same service. The design is in the style of the Bernadotte pattern produced by manufacturers such as Thun 1794, although no maker’s marks are visible in the photographs to confirm a specific attribution. A small adhesive auction tag on the sauce boat is inscribed Liskeard Auction Rooms Lot 449.
