Lot 568: A Collection of Vintage Shoemaker's Tools
A collection of traditional shoemaking and maintenance items. The assortment includes carved wooden shoe lasts, possibly fashioned from beechwood. One last is impressed with the numeral 4, with other faint markings present. These lasts incorporate metal-lined mounting apertures and segmented heel blocks. Accompanying these is a cobbler’s hammer, designed with a curved steel head and a turned wooden handle. Completing the collection is a shoe polishing brush, featuring a contoured wooden handle with decorative border lines and a dense bed of black bristles. The hammer head retains an adhesive label from Liskeard Auction Rooms.
