Lot 700: A Capodimonte Style Relief-Molded Porcelain Swan Service Dish
A relief-molded hard-paste porcelain dish decorated in the style of the celebrated Meissen Swan Service. The circular form features a scalloped rim with a gilded edge. The interior is decorated in relief with a central scene of two swans upon a rippled water ground, accompanied by a heron with a fish in its beak and a duck in flight. The composition is further detailed with a hand-painted butterfly and dragonfly set amongst marsh reeds. The border is decorated with a variety of polychrome hand-painted floral sprigs. The base of the dish bears a hand-painted mark in gold of a capital N positioned beneath a five-pointed crown.
