Lot 1041: Tudor Revival Style Carved Oak Court Cupboard
A 20th-century Tudor Revival style oak court cupboard, also known as a buffet sideboard. The piece is constructed from oak with a dark-stained finish, featuring panelled sides and door fronts. The design and decorative elements are consistent with the Old Charm range produced by makers such as Wood Bros. The upper tier features a recessed central cupboard door with a carved lozenge motif, supported by two bulbous, turned pillars. This top section is finished with a decorative frieze displaying a repeating carved arch pattern. The lower section includes two frieze drawers with carved fronts, positioned above a two-door cupboard base. The lower doors feature matching carved lozenge panels within panelled surrounds. The cabinet is fitted with decorative butterfly style hinges and circular ring-pull handles in a patinated dark metal finish. A rectangular metallic label is present on the interior back panel of the upper cupboard, though the characters are not clearly legible.
