Lot 535: A late 19th century ornate Silver pastry or bon bon server
A large decorative sifter or pastry server, likely of Continental European origin in the Neo-Rococo or Historismus style. The circular head features intricate pierced openwork and cast decoration, centred by a winged putto with outstretched arms within a lattice of scrolled foliage and floral motifs. The upper border is topped with a grotesque mask flanked by two smaller putti. The flared handle is heavily cast and pierced with further scrolling foliage, terminating in a loop containing a small seated figure. The item exhibits a dark, aged patina consistent with silver. Small, indented marks are visible on the scrollwork of the handle but are too worn or small to be definitively identified.
