Estimated price: £300 - £400

Buyer's Premium:

This fine hand-knotted carpet is attributed to the Tabriz region of Iran, featuring an intricate design and high knot density. The wool pile, potentially incorporating silk highlights to accentuate the floral details, is woven onto a cotton foundation. The composition is defined by a large central lobed medallion in navy and light blue, positioned on an ivory field. The field is densely decorated with a millefleurs pattern of scrolling vines, floral palmettes, and botanical sprays, which includes small bird pictorial motifs. Complementary floral spandrels fill the corners. The wide main border features a repeating pattern of large blossoms and foliate motifs, bordered by multiple narrower guard borders with geometric and vine designs. The colour palette is composed of soft pastel tones including cream, rose-pink, powder blue, and sage green. The rug is finished at both ends with short, ivory-coloured cotton fringes.
Dimensions: To be confirmed by physical measurement.

Condition report:

The carpet is in good overall condition. The pile is relatively even across the visible surface with no major areas of wear to the foundation. The fringes are present and mostly intact, showing only minor wear consistent with domestic use. No significant staining or large-scale repairs are visible in the provided images.
