Buyer's Premium:

This lot consists of two modern portable navigational instruments. The first is a Garmin eTrex handheld 12-channel GPS receiver, featuring a high-visibility yellow plastic housing with black rubberised side grips. The unit is equipped with a monochrome liquid crystal display (LCD) and side-mounted control buttons. It is marked with the manufacturer name GARMIN, the model eTrex, and 12 CHANNEL GPS, alongside a stylised globe logo. A black cord wrist lanyard is attached. The second item is a transparent acrylic baseplate compass designed for map reading and orienteering. The baseplate is marked with scales for 1:25,000 and 1:63,360, as well as centimetre and inch rulers. It features a built-in magnifying lens and an arrow marked DIRECTION OF TRAVEL. The white rotating bezel is graduated from 0 to 360 degrees with cardinal points N, E, S, and W. The liquid-filled capsule contains a magnetic needle with a red northern tip and luminous markers.

Compass baseplate length: 12.5 cm.

Condition report:

Both instruments show signs of previous field use. The GPS unit has some wear to the printed globe logo and minor surface marks to the casing, though the screen appears clear. Functionality has not been tested and the device is sold as seen. The compass baseplate shows light surface scuffing and scratches consistent with age. The needle moves freely within the liquid-filled housing and the bezel rotates correctly.
