Lot 569: An Assortment of Vintage Collectibles including Tobacco Tins, a Souvenir Booklet, and an AA Badge
This collection consists of several vintage items relating to travel, motoring, and tobacco. The group includes a printed paper souvenir booklet for Saint-Malo featuring 20 Vues Artistiques en Couleur, marked Marque LL and produced for the Edition Spéciale des Galeries Modernes, H. Roche, St-Malo. Also present is a square Automobile Association (AA) vehicle badge with black lettering on a yellow ground within a metal frame. The lot contains two lithographed tobacco tins: one for Exmoor Hunt Mixture Broad Cut, featuring a green and cream lid with a stag head illustration, and another for Murray, Sons and Co. Ltd. which retains remnants of a red and yellow label. A miniature rectangular tin depicting a seated figure is also included. Materials consist of printed paper, lithographed tinplate, and metal.
Condition report:
The items are in used vintage condition with varied degrees of wear. The souvenir booklet shows age-related toning and minor wear to the edges. The AA badge displays surface marks and wear consistent with its age and use. The Exmoor Hunt tin exhibits significant oxidisation and surface rust around the lid edges and body. The Murray tin shows heavy wear with extensive paint loss, fading, and surface corrosion. The small tin has typical surface marks and age-related wear throughout.
