Lot 659: A Collection of Vintage Industrial Electrical Testing Equipment and Control Components
This collection consists of several pieces of mid-20th-century industrial electrical equipment. Included is a fire switch panel manufactured by Bill Switchgear Ltd, identified by the circular maker mark containing the letters B, I, L, and D. The panel is constructed from an orange composite insulating material and features black printed text reading Fire Switch, On, and Off, with a central metal sliding lever.
The lot also contains a large rectangular black-painted metal control box featuring a central rotary dial on a silvered circular plate, flanked by smaller toggle switches. An analogue gauge is present, featuring a polished metal bezel, a white face with a central needle, and a threaded brass fitting.
Additional items include a portable meter in a grey housing with a top-mounted analogue scale and connection terminals, and two small square control units, possibly rheostats or timers, with central knobs and graduated scales. A turned wooden-handled tool with a cylindrical head is also included in the collection.
Materials: Painted steel, brass, wood, and composite insulating materials.
