Lot 658: A Collection of Royal Worcester Astley Porcelain and Assorted Ceramic Tableware
This group of ceramic tableware includes a partial service of Royal Worcester porcelain in the Astley pattern. The pieces feature transfer-printed multi-coloured floral decoration with gilded rims. The bases are marked with a circular backstamp for Royal Worcester True Porcelain, indicating the items are oven-to-table and dishwasher proof, with the Astley pattern name and a 1967 copyright date. The collection comprises plates, saucers, and teacups. Also included in the lot are miscellaneous ceramic wares including a large white ribbed coffee pot, a floral-patterned teapot, and a two-tone brown and cream glazed teapot. The assortment is completed by various mugs including bird and floral designs, a small brown jug with an embossed scroll pattern, and a small white porcelain dish.
