Lot 672: A Pair of Beswick Beatrix Potter Porcelain Figurines, Benjamin Bunny and Mrs. Ribby
This lot consists of a pair of vintage hand-painted glazed porcelain figurines from the Beatrix Potter series, manufactured by Beswick, England. The first figurine depicts the character Benjamin Bunny wearing his signature oversized green tam-o-shanter with a red pom-pom and a tan-coloured jacket. The base features a printed backstamp with the text BEATRIX POTTER’S, Benjamin Bunny, BESWICK, and ENGLAND, accompanied by a circular copyright mark for F. Warne & Co Ltd. The second figurine depicts the tabby cat character Mrs. Ribby, wearing a pink and white shawl and holding a blue-patterned bowl. The base is marked with BEATRIX POTTER, Mrs Ribby, © F. Warne & Co. 1951, Licensed by Copyrights, and BESWICK ENGLAND. A small hand-painted brown decorator’s mark, appearing to be the number 10, is also visible on the base of the cat figurine.
