Lot 671: Two Beswick Beatrix Potter Ceramic Figurines, Mr. Jeremy Fisher and Mr. Benjamin Bunny
Two Beswick glazed ceramic figurines inspired by the characters of Beatrix Potter. The first figurine depicts Mr. Jeremy Fisher as a frog wearing a lilac-coloured jacket and yellow spotted trousers, seated upon a green lily pad base. The second figurine features Mr. Benjamin Bunny standing in a brown and purple coat while holding a red-spotted handkerchief, mounted on a small circular white base. Both pieces were manufactured in England by Beswick Pottery. The underside of Mr. Jeremy Fisher is printed with BEATRIX POTTER’S, Mr. Jeremy Fisher, F. WARNE & Co. Ltd. COPYRIGHT, and BESWICK ENGLAND, and includes hand-painted marks 44 and N. The underside of Mr. Benjamin Bunny is printed with BEATRIX POTTER’S, Mr. Benjamin Bunny, F. WARNE & Co. Ltd. COPYRIGHT, and BESWICK ENGLAND, and features a gold-coloured circular Beswick backstamp.
