Lot 887: Mid-Century Modern Upholstered Storage Stool with Tapered Legs
A mid-20th-century upholstered storage stool, likely intended for use as a sewing box or vanity seat. The rectangular body is covered in a red textured fabric featuring a repeating geometric pattern of dark interlocking circular and square motifs, punctuated with small cream-coloured squares. The edges are finished with a border of brass-toned upholstery studs. The hinged lid opens to reveal an internal storage compartment lined with pink quilted satin-effect material. The piece is supported by four black-finished tapered legs, terminating in brass-coloured metal ferrules. A contemporary auction inventory tag marked 5677 is attached to one leg. A small white label is present on the inner rim, but no manufacturer details are legible.
