Lot 509: An Arts and Crafts Style Bowl and a Collection of Glass Cabochons
This lot comprises a bowl in the Arts and Crafts style and an assortment of glass cabochons. The bowl features a broad, heavily textured rim with a stone-like finish, decorated with incised undulating wave patterns and punctate motifs. The interior well displays a lustrous, iridescent finish in an overlapping scale or feather pattern in tones of copper, gold, and green. The vessel is supported by a pedestal base bearing an impressed mark, though the character is not clearly legible. Accompanying the bowl is a collection of translucent and iridescent glass cabochons, also known as flattened marbles, in various colours including green, blue, amber, and clear. The cabochons are housed in a rectangular purple cardboard box.
