Lot 514: A Collection of National Geographic Real-Life Bugs and Insects Magazines and Specimens
A collection of natural history specimens and educational literature from the National Geographic Real-Life Bugs and Insects series, published by RBA. The lot includes a black plastic display case containing several insect and arachnid specimens, each preserved within a rectangular clear resin block. Each block is labelled with the specimen common name and country of origin. Species identified on the labels include a Long-horned Beetle from Malaysia, a Stag Beetle from Europe, a Peacock Butterfly from Vietnam, an African Jewel Beetle from Tanzania, a Great Stag Beetle from Laos, a Red-legged Bug from Vietnam, a Fruit Chafer Beetle from Cameroon, a Click Beetle from China, a Flower Beetle from Thailand, a Devil Spider from Australia, a Unicorn Beetle from Australia, a Giant Beetle from Laos, a Damselfly, a June Beetle from Myanmar, and an Orange-spotted Cockroach from Argentina. Also included is a stack of corresponding magazines, including Issue 27 and Issue 37. Several of the magazines are still contained within their original clear plastic postal wrappers.
