Lot 538: A Group of Asian and Asian-Style Decorative Ceramics and an Interior-Painted Snuff Bottle
A collection of decorative objects comprising several small ceramic vases and an interior-painted snuff bottle. The ceramic items include a blue and white porcelain vase decorated with a foliate scroll pattern; a small earthenware vase featuring an ochre to green graduated ground painted with flowering branches in the Japanese style; and a textured ceramic vase with a cream honeycomb-patterned body and a dark glazed neck. The interior-painted glass snuff bottle depicts a figurative scene with figures in traditional attire, fitted with a red stopper and housed in a yellow silk-lined presentation box. A white paper auction tag from HCP Auctions South West is attached to the box. These pieces exhibit a range of styles and techniques characteristic of 20th-century Asian export and decorative wares. No maker’s marks or reign marks are visible on the items.
