Lot 563: A Tremar Pottery Stoneware Table Lamp Base
A slab-built stoneware table lamp base produced by Tremar Pottery of Cornwall. The rectangular body is finished in a mottled olive-green and brown glaze. The front face features an incised concentric leaf-like motif, with the recesses highlighted in a terracotta-coloured slip. A handwritten sticker to the front identifies the piece as an early Tremar Pottery lamp base made at the St Keyne site. The lamp has been rewired with a modern white three-core cable and is fitted with a standard UK three-pin plug and a bayonet-style bulb holder.
Condition report:
The pottery base is in good condition with no visible chips or cracks. The electrical fittings appear modern and have been tested according to the attached label, but it is recommended that all electrical items are professionally inspected and PAT tested by a qualified electrician before use. Sold without a lamp shade.
