Lot 146: Two Decorative Metal Lanterns, including a Cast Iron Pagoda-Style Garden Lantern and a Jeweled Glass Lantern
This lot comprises two distinct decorative metal lanterns. The first is a cast iron lantern in the Japanese pagoda style, featuring a tiered, flared roof topped with a circular finial. The cylindrical body has an open lattice or fretwork design intended to house a candle or light source, and the entire structure is supported on three curved, splayed legs. This item carries a handwritten label reading REZ £20 CHINEASE LANTERN and a printed tag marked Lot 146. The second item is a square-form decorative lantern with a dark metal frame. The four sides and faceted top are inset with chunky, irregular pieces of multi-coloured glass in various shades of blue, amber, red, green, and purple. The top of the frame is finished with a scrolled metal handle. No maker’s marks are visible on either piece.
