Lot 171: Vintage Cast Iron Woodworker's Bench Vice with Wooden Jaw Liners
A vintage undermount woodworking bench vice of traditional design, constructed from heavy cast iron and steel. The vice features dual parallel steel guide rods and a central threaded screw mechanism operated by a sliding T-handle. It is fitted with two protective wooden jaw liners secured to the cast iron faces. The unit is designed for mounting to the underside of a workbench. While the form is characteristic of British manufacturers such as Record, Paramo, or Woden, no maker’s marks are clearly visible on the exterior surfaces. The body retains remnants of a dark blue paint finish. The item includes a white auction sticker from HCP Auctions South West (Lot 171) and a handwritten paper slip marked VICE B 3291 RES £10.
