Lot 699: A Mid-Century Modern Drop-Leaf Dining Table and Set of Chairs
A mid-century modern dining suite in the style of mid-20th-century British manufacturers such as G-Plan or McIntosh. The suite consists of an extendable drop-leaf dining table and a set of matching chairs. The table features an oval top when fully extended, composed of a central fixed section and two D-ended drop-down leaves supported by a gateleg mechanism. The construction includes a wood veneer top, possibly teak or mahogany, on a solid wood frame with slender tapered legs. The chairs feature vertical slat backs and are upholstered in a textured, multi-tonal beige and brown fabric. Auction labels are present on the tabletop and chair frames, including a rectangular white sticker numbered 699. No manufacturer’s marks or stamps are visible.
