Lot 700: A Collection of Mineral and Geological Specimens in a Vintage Lithographed Tin
A Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1911 Renault 2-Seater (model Y-2) mounted on a wooden trinket box, containing an assortment of British coinage. The die-cast model car features a silver-painted body with textured red plastic seats and gold-toned spoked wheels, permanently affixed to the lid of the box. The storage container is a rectangular hinged box made of a stained hardwood. Included within the box is an assortment of British coins, mostly comprising large cupro-nickel commemorative pieces and decimal currency. Notable items include 1965 Winston Churchill commemorative crowns and 1977 Silver Jubilee crowns featuring the equestrian portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The collection also contains heptagonal 50p coins and multiple ten pence pieces.
