Lot 907: Mid-century style drop-leaf dining table and a set of matching chairs
A mid-20th century banjo-style aneroid barometer of British manufacture. The instrument is housed in a shaped wooden case with a polished finish. It features a circular brass-rimmed dial protected by a glass cover. The dial displays weather conditions in black Gothic-style script, including Very Dry, Fair, Change, Rain, and Stormy. It includes dual scales for barometric pressure measured in both inches (28 to 31) and millibars/hPa (950 to 1060). The centre of the dial contains instructional text reading Hand moves to left weather deterioration and Hand moves to right weather improvement, alongside Falling and Rising indicators. There are two hands: a primary black indicator and a secondary brass setting hand. The base of the dial is marked British Made.
