Lot 908: A Collection of Meccano and KNEX Construction Sets and Accessories
A mid-20th-century Middle Eastern-style camel saddle footstool, common as a souvenir item from Egypt or North Africa. The stool is constructed with a stained wooden frame featuring an arched X-frame base and four legs joined by horizontal side rails. Each of the four upright posts is capped with a decorative brass-plated metal cover secured by four rivets. The rectangular, slightly curved padded seat is upholstered in a two-tone teal and off-white leather. The design includes a large central circular motif and four smaller circular roundels at the corners, with all panels and the outer perimeter finished with gold-toned decorative piping. No maker’s marks or brand names are visible on the object. A modern auction lot tag for HCP Auctions South West (Lot 911) is adhered to the side of the seat, and a small sticker with the handwritten number 67 is attached to the top.
