Lot 920: Postmodern Chrome and Glass Three Tier Etagere
A rectangular clear glass tray featuring a heavy scalloped rim composed of faceted block-like sections. The base and sides are decorated with an intricate moulded geometric pattern designed to imitate hand-cut crystal. The decoration includes central diamond panels with starburst motifs, flanked by diamond-point hatching and radiating fan-like designs. This item is characteristic of late 19th or early 20th-century pressed glass manufacture, a technique commonly used for domestic items such as celery dishes or dressing table trays. The piece bears a small white auction sticker printed with Lot 923 and HGP Auctions South West, as well as a larger white label with the handwritten characters 9654 and NR. No manufacturer’s marks, signatures, or acid-etched stamps are visible on the object.
