Lot 1006: An Aluminium-Clad Professional Flight Case with Penn Fabrication Hardware
This vintage GEC (General Electric Company, UK) integrated stereo music centre dates from the 1970s. The unit features a G.E.C. logo on the front panel and is inscribed with Stereo Music Centre on the fascia. It incorporates a Garrard 6-300 three-speed automatic record changer, which is marked accordingly and includes a tonearm and auto-changer spindle. The system also contains a top-loading cassette deck with piano-key style controls and dual VU meters. The radio section features a horizontal slide-rule tuning dial covering LW, MW, SW, and VHF (FM) bands, with numerous European station names printed on the scale. The front control panel includes rotary knobs for power, treble, bass, balance, and volume, alongside push-button selectors for various inputs and filters. The unit is housed in a wood-effect veneered plinth with a brushed metal and black plastic front, protected by a smoked acrylic dust cover.
