Lot 1059: A 20th Century yellow painted wooden swinging dressing mirror
An early 20th-century Edwardian one-piece music or display cabinet in the Sheraton Revival style. The construction features mahogany with rosewood veneers and crossbanding. The single full-length door is divided into a tripartite upper section and a larger lower glazed section. The central upper panel is decorated with a satinwood and boxwood marquetry inlay depicting a classical amphora urn, flanked by two narrow vertical mirror-glass panels. The lower portion of the door is fitted with a single pane of clear glass. The interior contains four fixed mahogany shelves. The cabinet is raised on four square-section tapered legs with a shallow shaped apron to the front. It retains two brass butt hinges and a brass-lined keyhole. No maker’s marks or labels were found during inspection.
