Lot 64: Silver and silver-plated decorative and souvenir spoons including a St. Andrews salt spoon
A pair of spoons comprising one ornate decorative silver caddy spoon and one St. Andrews souvenir salt spoon. The ornate silver caddy spoon features a circular bowl with repoussé decoration depicting a central bird, likely a pelican, within a frame of rococo-style scrolls and a beaded border. The openwork stem terminates in a cast finial of a lion rampant standing atop a crown. The second item is a souvenir salt spoon with a shell-fluted bowl. The terminal features a polychrome enamelled coat of arms for St. Andrews, with the name ST. ANDREWS on a blue enamel scroll. The reverse of the stem is marked EPNS, for electroplated nickel silver.
