Lot 74: Vintage Meissen Porcelain Alt-Ozier Pattern Floral Decorated Soup Plate
A Meissen porcelain shallow soup plate or rimmed bowl featuring a scalloped edge and relief-moulded Alt-Ozier basketweave border. The border also includes radiating, petal-like fluted sections. The piece is decorated with hand-painted botanical studies in the Deutsche Blumen style. The central well displays a detailed study of a blue cornflower with a smaller bud. Four smaller polychrome floral sprigs are positioned around the inner well, depicting a purple crocus, yellow primrose-type flowers, pink blooms, and small red flowers. The base bears the blue underglaze crossed swords mark of the Meissen factory with two horizontal incised slashes through the hilts, identifying the item as a factory second. Other markings include a painted number 18 and an impressed number 92.
