Lot 130: Vintage Taxidermy Red Fox Mask and Brush Mounted on a Shield Plaque
A vintage taxidermy specimen of a Red Fox, Vulpes vulpes, prepared as a traditional mask and brush wall mount. The fox head is set in a snarling expression with an open mouth, featuring bared teeth and modelled interior mouthparts. The specimen is fitted with amber-coloured glass eyes and retains its original whiskers. The tail, or brush, is mounted in a curled position around the lower portion of the head. The entire specimen is fixed to a shield-shaped wooden wall plaque with a dark-stained finish. The reverse of the plaque is fitted with a metal loop for hanging. No maker labels or taxidermist stamps are visible on the mount.
