A collection of vintage Wade England glazed ceramic miniature animal figurines, commonly known as Wade Whimsies. The assortment includes various animal subjects, each finished in characteristic multi-toned glazes. Among the figures are a hedgehog with a brown-glazed body, moulded spines, and a buff-coloured face; a spotted fawn sitting upright with its head turned; a small fawn resting on a green-glazed grassy base; a squirrel with an arched bushy tail; a seated gorilla; a sitting monkey; a sitting fox in a greenish-brown glaze; a flat, textured alligator; a curled sleeping cat; a sleeping puppy; a small animal resting on a reddish-pink base; and a textured mammal head.
The underside of the hedgehog figurine features an incised circular recess containing the moulded capital letters reading MADE ENGLAND.
