Lot 11: A Collection of Trade and Industrial Tools Including a Slater's Riving Knife and Heavy-Duty Ratchet Strap
This lot comprises an assortment of trade tools and hardware, including a traditional slater’s riving knife, a cargo tie-down strap, and a quantity of metal plates. The slater’s riving knife, or slate ripper, is a manual tool used for removing roofing slates. It is constructed with a long, flat steel blade featuring a hooked and notched end for gripping and cutting fixing nails. The blade is attached to a cranked neck with a handle featuring a black ribbed composite grip. The blade bears a handwritten tag and masking tape marked 7100, along with lot stickers numbered 011.
The lot also includes a heavy-duty orange polyester webbing ratchet strap. This cargo tie-down is equipped with a metal ratchet tensioner and J-hook terminations. A handwritten label identifies the strap as having a two-ton capacity.
Furthermore, the lot contains a cardboard box holding a quantity of square galvanised steel plates. Each plate features a central pre-drilled hole, suitable for use as roofing washers or shims.
