Lot 167: A Large Vintage Terracotta Garden Planter
A large, heavy-bodied terracotta vessel of semi-spherical form, traditionally utilised as a dairy bowl or large-scale mortar / planter. The bowl features a wide, flat everted rim and two small, integrated lug handles positioned symmetrically just below the rim. It is manufactured from thick-walled clay with a natural, unglazed finish. The exterior surface displays a heavy weathered patina with extensive green lichen and moss growth. The interior is uncleaned and contains visible soil residue and dark staining. Two auction labels are present on the exterior, including one from HCP Auctions South West. No manufacturer marks or capacity stamps are visible.
