Lot 450: A Set of Eight Wedgwood Victorian Street Sellers Bone China Collector Plates
A set of eight Wedgwood bone china collector plates from the Victorian Street Sellers series, designed by artist John Finnie, dating to circa 1986 to 1987. Produced by Josiah Wedgwood and Sons, Ltd., of Stoke-on-Trent, England, the plates feature polychrome transfer-printed illustrations depicting various historical Victorian street vendors, including The Baked Potato Man, The Bread Roundsman, and Street Seller of Fried Fish. Each plate is signed in transfer script John Finnie to the front. The accompanying literature features the printed manufacturer marks, including the Wedgwood Portland Vase logo and the text Wedgwood Bone China Made in England. The plates are housed in their original grey card presentation boxes and are accompanied by the original promotional and informational leaflets.
