A large-scale, mixed-media textile wall hanging featuring a central architectural motif of a cathedral with five onion domes, executed in the Russian Orthodox tradition. The piece is constructed from a diverse assortment of fabrics including tapestry-woven brocade, velvet, and lace panels. The composition is defined by heavy, twisted jute-style rope cording that outlines the architectural forms and decorative elements, providing a three-dimensional, sculptural quality. The cathedral is flanked on the left by a stylised sun with metallic gold-tone rays and a crescent moon, and on the right by a vertical floral arrangement with velvet leaves and embroidered blossoms. The work is enclosed within a thick rope border and finished at the base with a long, multi-strand textile fringe. The use of metallic gold and silver threads throughout provides highlights to the domes and windows. No signatures, maker’s marks, or Cyrillic inscriptions are visible.
