Lot 613: A Collection of Vintage Precision Measuring and Technical Drawing Instruments Including Jackson Bros. Ltd. and The Central Tool Company
A collection of vintage technical drawing and precision measuring instruments. The collection includes a technical drawing instrument set by Jackson Bros. Ltd. of Leeds and Armley, West Yorkshire. The instruments are constructed from nickel-plated brass and steel and are housed in a fitted, velvet and satin-lined case with a textured black exterior. The set comprises dividers, compasses with interchangeable pen and pencil legs, a ruling pen with a bone or synthetic handle, an extension bar, and lead canisters. The interior lid features a gold-leaf stamp for Jackson Bros. Ltd. Leeds and Armley. The collection also contains a precision micrometer by The Central Tool Company of Cranston, Rhode Island, U.S.A., housed in a fitted wooden box. The instrument features a dark painted frame and is accompanied by a setting standard and an adjustment spanner. A partial paper label inside the box identifies the manufacturer. Additionally, there is a second micrometer housed in a black leatherette dome-top case with a purple felt-lined interior. The steel frame is engraved with decimal equivalents and is accompanied by a circular setting standard and a curved adjustment spanner.
