Lot 637: Large vintage Cerebos Table Salt lithographed tinplate storage container
A large mid-20th century lithographed tinplate storage container for Cerebos Table Salt. The rectangular tin features a turquoise blue ground with a central black-bordered panel. The front face is decorated with the Cerebos brand name in white script and TABLE SALT in sans-serif capitals. The panel includes a Royal Warrant crest with text reading BY APPOINTMENT TO HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN TABLE SALT AND PEPPER MANUFACTURERS CEREBOS LTD. Additional text on the panel reads IDEAL FOR THE TABLE AND ALL DOMESTIC USES and MANUFACTURED IN ENGLAND BY Cerebos Limited LONDON, N.W.10. The design is a notable example of mid-century British commercial kitchenalia.
