Lot 652: A Pair of Miniature Ceramic Character Jugs in the Style of Royal Doulton
A pair of small-scale polychrome glazed ceramic character jugs. The first jug portrays a jovial male figure wearing a black tricorn hat and a red jacket with a green cravat, featuring a green foliate scroll handle. The second jug depicts an elderly male figure with a weathered expression, wearing a textured orange flat cap and a brown coat, with a handle modelled in the form of a silver-grey skeleton key. Both items are finished with a high-gloss glaze and have white-glazed interiors. These pieces are characteristic of mid-20th-century British decorative earthenware. No maker marks or model numbers are visible as the bases are not shown.
Height: Approximately 5cm – 8cm.
