Lot 658: Royal Winton Green Rosebud Earthenware Covered Butter Dish and Tray
A mid-20th-century glazed earthenware covered butter dish and matching tray produced by Royal Winton in the Green Rosebud pattern. The set features a characteristic pale green Nile Green glaze. The cover is surmounted by a hand-painted and moulded finial in the form of a pink rosebud with green leaves. The sides of the cover feature hand-painted vertical line detailing, and both pieces are finished with gilt-lined rims. A small steam vent hole is present on the top of the cover. The underside of the tray bears a black transfer-printed factory mark reading Royal Winton, Made in England, alongside a hand-painted black numeral 2.
