This is an oak kneehole writing desk in the Georgian revival style, dating to the early 20th century. The desk features a rectangular top with a moulded edge and an inset red leather writing surface, which is decorated with gold-tooled borders. The drawer arrangement consists of one central long frieze drawer above the kneehole, flanked by two smaller drawers on each side. The drawers are adorned with decorative brass willow-style backplates and drop handles. The piece is supported by four cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. The oak timber exhibits a prominent grain across the carcass and drawer fronts. An auction lot sticker numbered 878 is present on the top surface. There are no visible maker’s marks or stamps on the exterior of the desk.
