Lot 899: Two Wooden Stools comprising a Primitive Tripod Stool and a Mid-20th Century Tall Stool
This lot comprises two disparate wooden stools. The first is a primitive tripod stool of vernacular construction, featuring a thick, irregular single-slab hardwood seat, likely elm or oak. The wood displays a naturally weathered greyish patina. It is supported by three roughly hewn, splayed legs mortised into the underside. A small white label on the top surface bears the handwritten digits 1080. The second item is a mid-20th century tall stool, possibly for use at a bar or counter. The frame is constructed from stained wood, likely beech, with four tapered legs and rectangular-section stretchers. The padded seat is upholstered in a tan-coloured vinyl or rexine. A printed auction label for lot 899 is affixed to the upper frame.
