Lot 977: A Large Jacobean Revival Carved Dark Oak Sideboard
A large, heavily carved dark oak sideboard of rectangular form in the Jacobean Revival style. The top surface features a stepped moulded edge above a multi-drawer frieze. The drawer configuration consists of three upper drawers, with the central drawer being larger and projecting in a bow-front style. Below the central drawer are two additional smaller drawers. All drawers are fitted with ornate brass-tone swing handles on scrolled foliate backplates. The lower section features a central pair of cupboard doors flanked by two larger outer doors. The two outer doors are decorated with large, deeply carved oval medallions featuring scrolled foliate and classical motifs. The central doors feature a simpler recessed panel design. The piece is supported on a plinth base with bracket feet. The various framed artworks and objects currently resting on the top surface are not included with this lot.
