Lot 979: A Late 20th Century Pine Two-Piece Welsh Dresser in the Rustic Farmhouse Style
A traditional kitchen or Welsh dresser constructed from knotty pine with a warm honey-toned finish. The piece is of two-part construction, comprising a removable upper plate rack over a sideboard base. The upper section features a stepped cornice above three open shelves with a tongue-and-groove boarded back. The sides are flanked by decorative barley-twist turned columns. The lower sideboard unit contains three frieze drawers over three panelled cupboard doors, all fitted with turned wooden knob handles. The entire unit is raised on a solid plinth base. Small rectangular white labels are present on the shelves and base unit, appearing to be auction lot tags. No maker’s marks or manufacturer labels are clearly visible.
