Lot 84: Silver Plated Circular Footed Salver in the Chippendale Style
A circular silver plated footed salver, featuring a lobed rim in the Chippendale style with a beaded border. The central field is decorated with ornate flat-chased foliate scrollwork and paisley-inspired motifs surrounding a vacant circular reserve. The piece is supported by three cast claw-and-ball feet. The upper surface bears three pseudo-hallmarks in individual shields including a crown, a crown above a row of characters including H.A. and E.P., and a gothic-style letter A. These markings are characteristic of the Sheffield firm Atkin Brothers (Harry Wright Atkin).
