Lot 307: A Collection of Mid-Century Drip-Glaze Ceramic Tableware
A collection of ceramic tablewares featuring a mid-century drip-glaze aesthetic. The set is finished in a high-gloss dark brown glaze, complemented by a mottled cream and tan foam or scummed drip glaze applied to the rims and upper sections. The visible forms include a handled footed cup or bowl and a tall cylindrical handled mug. The items are consistent with commercial pottery produced in the mid-20th century by various British and European manufacturers, such as those produced in the style of Pfaltzgraff or mid-century modern studio pottery. No maker’s marks are clearly visible on the exposed bases. The collection is partially housed in shipping materials including bubble wrap and tissue paper.
