Lot 425: A Benson Single-Cutaway Electric Guitar in Blue Burst Finish
A Benson electric guitar featuring a single-cutaway solid body in a blue burst finish. The instrument is constructed with a bound neck and a dark hardwood fretboard, likely rosewood, inset with pearloid-style block inlays. The black-faced headstock bears the Benson brand name in a gold-coloured script. The guitar is equipped with two chrome-covered humbucker pickups, a cream-coloured pickguard, and matching pickup surrounds. Electronics are controlled by a three-way toggle switch with a black rhythm/treble indicator ring and four black top-hat style control knobs for volume and tone. Hardware includes a chrome-finished Tune-o-matic style bridge with a stopbar tailpiece and six enclosed chrome tuning machines. A black bell-shaped truss rod cover is fixed to the headstock. The lower body features an HCP Auctions South West sticker for Lot 425 and handwritten reference numbers R-75 and V7313 on masking tape.
