Lot 743: A Mid-20th Century Dressmaker's Mannequin on Metal Tripod Stand
A vintage female dressmaker’s mannequin or tailor’s dummy, dating from the mid-20th century, circa 1930s-1950s. The torso is constructed with a pinnable, beige-coloured jersey fabric cover over a padded form, featuring a single central vertical seam to the front and back. The mannequin is mounted on an adjustable central pole supported by a three-legged metal tripod stand, finished in a dark green paint. Attached to the neck is a modern auction house tag which reads HCP Auctions South West and Lot 743. A secondary handwritten tag is tied to the neck bearing the characters P P P F and O A T M. No manufacturer’s name or size stamp is visible on the neck cap or base.
