Lot 588: Two Contemporary Recycled Metal Hardware Sculptures
This lot consists of two contemporary folk art sculptures constructed from welded metal hardware components including nuts, bolts, springs, and washers. One sculpture is a silver-toned motorcycle of cruiser design, with the engine and exhaust components represented by coil springs, mounted on a circular tubular metal display stand. The second piece is a dark-patinated scene depicting a standing figure attending to a seated figure, with a series of vertical metal rods representing hair, mounted on a flat rectangular metal plinth. No signatures or foundry marks are visible on either piece. A white paper tag marked 966 is adhered to the motorcycle tank section, alongside a yellow circular sticker bearing the number 5. A white tag on the base of the barber scene sculpture is partially obscured but appears to read 100.
