Lot 605: An Assortment of Decorative Ceramics and Collectibles including a Kalocsa Hand Painted Reticulated Bowl and a 1977 Silver Jubilee Commemorative Dish
A collection of decorative ceramics, metalware, and desk accessories. The group is led by a Kalocsa Hungarian hand-painted porcelain octagonal bowl featuring a reticulated lattice rim and a central floral spray of pink roses, blue blossoms, and purple flowers with green foliage. Included is a circular porcelain plate decorated in the Chinoiserie style with a bird perched on a bamboo branch in gold and muted enamels against a cream ground, and a second circular plate with a scalloped gilt-edged rim featuring a grey transfer-printed floral border and a hand-coloured central scene of a flowering tree. A rectangular porcelain serving tray with a green-lined rim is decorated with a polychrome floral vine pattern and carries an HCP Auctions label for lot 605. The lot also contains two small floral-encrusted ceramic ornaments in the form of a shoe and a log, and two circular lidded porcelain trinket boxes decorated with rose and violet motifs. Metalware includes a British pewter dish commemorating the 1977 Silver Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II, housed in its original blue presentation box with commemorative text. Further items comprise a rectangular polished fossiliferous stone stand with three carved wells in a teal cardboard box, a brass chamberstick with a finger loop handle, and a miniature silver-toned photo frame.
